GREG'S Blog - Healing

When I Heal - Sandi Patty

Shooting arrows in the darkness.
Holding fire in your hands.
Oh and yesterday's forsaken
Cause the innocence was taken away.
And so the ashes blow around me.
My fears rise up to fan the flame.
But in the midst of all my sorrow,
I hear a distant sweet tomorrow
Call my name.

(Chorus):
When I heal,
When I learn,
When I face all that I've been running from.
When I see,
When I know that my time has come.
When I can feel the sun again,
Now the morning light's my friend.
When the ash is a flame.
When I heal.

Secrets locked away deep inside.
Shadows are never far behind.
But what rattles in the closet
Can be driven from the darkness today.

(Chorus)

Climbing the stairway of regrets,
It's hard to fathom what He forgives, He forgets.

(Chorus)

(repeat 2x):
I can feel the sun again,
Now the morning light's my friend.
When the ash is a flame.
When I heal.

Psalm 103:12 "as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us"

Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Matthew 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their sins,
your Father will not forgive your sins

Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more."

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Tonight by the glow Of the firelight
You found the courage
To speak your mind
And tear down the walls
You've been hiding behind
You spoke of your struggle
And you cried from the pain
You spoke of your failure
And then you turned in shame
You said you knew you'd never
Be alright

Chorus
God's not afraid of your honesty
He can heal your heart if you speak honestly
Humble sorrow and the honest cry
He will not pass by

So many of us
Spend so much time
Smooting things over
Pretending we're fine
As if life could ever be
So cut and dried
But you my friend
You've got that passionate heart
It'll curse you sometimes
But it can take you far
When you let Him tame it
You will be just fine

Chorus

You may feel like you're crawling
Over broken glass
Crying a river
Into the pillows of your past
But you will be free

Chorus

Repeat Chorus

Margaret Becker - Just Come In

Just Come In (Steps of Faith 1987-1991 Album Version) - Margaret Becker

With Lyrics
Live Version
What do I see
You draggin up here
Is that for your atoning?
I know you're sorry
I've seen your tears
You don't have to show Me
What makes you think you must
Make that go away
I forgot
When I forgave
I wish you would

Chorus

Just come in
Just leave that right there
Love does not care
Just come in
Lay your heart right here
You should never fear

You think you've crossed
Some sacred line
And now I will ignore you
If you look up
You will find
My heart is still toward you
Look at the sky
The east to the west
That's where I threw this
When you first confessed
Let it go now

Chorus

I will forgive you
No matter what you've done
No matter how many times
You turn and run
I love you
I wish you'd come

Chorus

Powerful story's of Forgiveness

Forgiveness - The Greatest Gift

Matthew 5:44-45

44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Matthew 6:14-15

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Matthew 18:21-35 - The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?" 22 Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.a]">[a] 23 "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of goldb]">[b] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. 26 "At this the servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27 The servant's master took pity on him, cancelled the debt and let him go. 28 "But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.c]">[c] He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. 29 "His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.' 30 'But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened. 32 'Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I cancelled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35 "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

Luke 6:35-38, 42

35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Judging Others

37 'Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” 42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
